The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) dismisses rumors alleging ransom payment by Akwa Ibom State government and individuals for the release of kidnapped prospective corps members in Zamfara State.

In a press statement, NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, clarified that the release of the kidnapped prospective corps members was achieved through the collaborative efforts of security agents and the NYSC. Megwa categorically stated that no state government, individual, or agency made any ransom payment for their release.
