The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been thrown into mourning after it announced the death of two of its members serving in Cross River State.

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been thrown into mourning after it announced the death of two of its members serving in Cross River State.

Myschoolnews reports the corps members were said to have met their deaths on their way to their state of service.

 

Their deaths were revealed by the NYSC in a release on their social handles on Thursday afternoon.

 

The publication reads:

 

"The Director-General, National youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed; and the management of the Scheme regret to announce the death of two Corps Members serving in Cross River State: Udemagwuna Adaeze Onyinyechukwu with State Code Number CR/23A/1450, serving at 304 Mobility Group, Airforce Base, Calabar; and Okwuowulu Giveth Nzubechukwu, CR/23A/1390 serving at Cross River State House of Assembly, Calabar.

"The Corps Members met their deaths in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along Nara/Ugbawka Road, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, on their way to Calabar. 

 

"The National Youth Service Corps is saddened over the losses, which have left the Scheme highly devastated. 

 

"Management conveys deepest condolences to the families of the fallen heroes, as well as the Governments and people of Enugu and Cross River States over the sad incident.

"Meanwhile, the management of the scheme  is in constant contact with the families of the deceased corps members.
