OAU Issues Warning on Okada Usage Following Tragic Student Death

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has cautioned students against excessive use of motorcycles as a mode of transport in the wake of the tragic death of a final-year student, Chisom Nwankwo. The student lost her life after the commercial motorcyclist she was riding with lost control at the scene of another accident. OAU's management emphasized the need for passengers to prioritize safety, citing instances where passengers engage in phone activities, neglecting potential dangers.

Olanrewaju revealed that the bike rider involved in the accident was negligent, losing concentration while observing another minor accident. A bus subsequently hit the motorcycle from behind.
While expressing condolences to the Nwankwo family, OAU's management stressed the importance of passengers being vigilant and avoiding distractions during motorcycle rides to enhance their safety.
