Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, in partnership with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), organised a sensitization programme for public tertiary institutions in Ogun State on Tuesday, 20th January 2026, at the Prince Dapo Abiodun Twin Lecture Theatre.

Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, praised Presinelfudent Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initiative aimed at easing the financial burden on Nigerian students, noting that the programme provides monthly stipends to students of tertiary institutions. He also commended the efforts of OGITECH Governing Council Chairman, Chief Ayotunde Ola Odulaj a, and Otunba Femi Adewunmi for facilitating students’ access to the fund.
NELFUND Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Akintunde Sawyer, explained that the loan is interest-free and repayment will commence only after beneficiaries graduate and secure employment. He added that while efforts are ongoing to allow students to access the fund immediately upon admission, prospective students can apply using their JAMB registration numbers before matriculation.
The programme drew praise from several dignitaries, including traditional rulers, who described President Tinubu’s initiative as transformative for Nigerian students. Representatives from various public tertiary institutions in Ogun State were also in attendance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by OGITECH Acting Registrar, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, on behalf of the institute.
