In a significant political development, former Student Union Government (SUG) Public Relations Officer (PRO) and prominent student leader, Comrade Okon Victor, has announced his candidacy for the 2024 Presidential elections in Abia State University's newly established Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science. This announcement follows the recent approval by the University Senate to elevate the Department of Medical Laboratory Science to a full-fledged Faculty.

Comrade Okon Victor, known for his extensive experience in student leadership, emphasized his vision for a more inclusive and progressive governance model. In an exclusive interview, he shared his plans to focus on student welfare, academic excellence, and fostering innovation within the Faculty.

"My passion for leadership and social justice has always driven me to advocate for my fellow students," Okon said. "I learned invaluable lessons about advocacy, organizing, and leadership during my time in service," he explained. "Now, I want to use that experience to serve my people, the NIMELSSITES, and make our new Faculty a place where every student feels valued."
