Oluwatimileyin Olalere Hits First-Class Milestone at UNILAG 56th Convocation

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) continues to produce world-class talent, most recently celebrating the academic feat of Oluwatimileyin Olalere, who graduated with First Class Honours in Accounting.

Achieving a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.60/5.00, Olalere was officially recognized during the university’s 56th Convocation Ceremony. His journey to the top of his class serves as a blueprint for undergraduate success in one of Nigeria’s most competitive academic environments.

Reflecting on his journey, Olalere emphasized that excellence is a result of intentional habits rather than luck. He shared several key strategies that underpinned his performance:

Strategic Intelligence: He advocates for "gathering intelligence" by consulting seniors to understand the nuances of specific courses before they begin.

The "Start Strong" Philosophy: Olalere believes in building a high CGPA early to create a buffer for more challenging senior-level courses.

Collaborative Learning: Warning against being a "lone ranger," he stresses the importance of an intentional social circle that fosters academic growth.

Resource Utilization: Beyond attending lectures, he highlights the use of past questions as a critical tool for understanding examiner expectations.

Consistency and Faith: He attributes his stamina to a combination of disciplined habits and a strong spiritual foundation.

In a message to current undergraduates, the high-achiever offered a reminder that one's starting point does not define their conclusion. "Where you are does not limit where you can finish," Olalere stated. "With the right habits, guidance, and consistency, you can achieve academic excellence."

As Oluwatimileyin Olalere transitions into the professional world, his story remains a powerful example of the "Akoka" spirit of excellence and persistence.
