Ondo State Government Initiates Settlement of Outstanding Gratuities for Teachers and Retirees on November 30

In an effort to fulfill its commitment, the Ondo State government is set to commence the payment of all outstanding gratuities for primary school teachers and local government retirees on November 30. Alhaji Amidu Takuro, the State Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, revealed that an allocation of approximately N1 billion has been designated for this purpose.

Takuro highlighted the government's responsiveness to the citizens' needs and its commitment to prioritizing workers' welfare. He informed the media that the government recently disbursed the final tranche of 142 percent of salary arrears for local government workers along with the September salary.

As part of the government's strategy to alleviate economic challenges faced by retirees, Governor Akeredolu approved the allocation of N1 billion to commence the payment of gratuities. The payment process will be flagged off at 10 am at the Dome on November 30 and is expected to continue as an ongoing initiative.
