Oyo Government Warns Head Teachers Against Holding Meetings During School Hours
The Oyo State Government has warned public primary school head teachers against holding meetings during school hours. Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYO-SUBEB), issued the warning while monitoring school resumption in Ibadan.

The Oyo State Government has issued a strong warning to head teachers in public primary schools, advising them to refrain from holding meetings during school hours. This directive was delivered by Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYO-SUBEB), during a school resumption monitoring exercise on Tuesday in Ibadan.
Dr. Adeniran emphasized the importance of adhering to the unified school timetable, stressing that any head teacher found conducting meetings during school hours will face serious disciplinary action. He also appealed to unions and associations within the basic education sector to comply with this new directive.
In his statement, Dr. Adeniran reiterated the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to delivering quality education across public schools in Oyo State. He also expressed satisfaction with the student turnout for the new school term, urging teachers to remain dedicated to their duties.
Education Secretaries across the state have been instructed to inform all head teachers within their respective local government universal basic education authorities of the new directive.
