PAAU Mourns Passing of Professor Kennie Enojo, Director of Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies

The Management of Prince Abubakar Audu University, PAAU, Anyigba, has expressed profound sadness over the demise of Professor Enojo Kennie Enojo, a Professor of Political Economy and Director of the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies.

He died in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026, after a protracted illness.

Until his death, Professor Enojo was an accomplished academic, administrator, researcher and intellectual who dedicated several years of service to the development of Prince Abubakar Audu University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, described the passage of Professor Enojo as a painful and colossal loss to the University community.

He described the deceased as a distinguished scholar, committed administrator and dedicated university teacher whose contributions to the development of the University would remain indelible.

Professor Usman noted that Professor Enojo, fondly referred to as “The State,” dedicated his years of service to the University in pursuit of academic excellence. He added that his wealth of experience and contributions to academic scholarship and administrative responsibilities would be greatly missed.

The Vice-Chancellor commiserated with the family of the deceased, the Department of Political Science, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies, as well as colleagues, students, friends, associates of Professor Enojo and the entire University community.

He prayed God to grant the family and the University community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

Professor Enojo joined the services of the University as a Graduate Assistant on November 1, 2002, and rose steadily through the ranks until he was pronounced Professor by the Governing Council of the University on October 1, 2023.
