In a remarkable gesture of philanthropy, former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has once again extended his support to Grimard School of Nursing Science, Anyigba, Kogi State. During a visit on Tuesday, Obi donated a brand-new coaster bus and an additional ₦5 million to the institution, fulfilling a promise made during a previous visit three months ago.

The latest donation adds to the ₦10 million he previously contributed to support the school’s accreditation efforts and infrastructure development. The donation of the bus and extra funds aims to facilitate the institution’s logistical needs, including fuel expenses.

Addressing the students, Obi emphasized the importance of focusing on their studies and preparing for future leadership roles in Nigeria. He highlighted the high global demand for nursing and allied sciences, urging them to take advantage of the opportunities presented to them through quality education.

“I want you to remain committed to your training. The world needs skilled healthcare professionals now more than ever, and Nigeria is no exception,” Obi remarked.

The former governor noted that Grimard School of Nursing is one of over 22 nursing and midwifery institutions benefiting from his annual educational assistance. He reiterated his dedication to supporting education and healthcare development across the country.

Expressing appreciation, the Catholic Bishop of Idah, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Adaji, lauded Obi’s unwavering commitment to advancing education and healthcare. "Peter Obi is here not for political reasons but to ensure education thrives in Nigeria. His dedication is an example of integrity in public service," Bishop Adaji stated.

The Provost of the school, Mrs. Usman Obonugwa, also expressed her gratitude, praising Obi for his generosity and consistent efforts to enhance the institution’s development.
