The Senate of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has appointed Associate Professor Keziah Ayuba as its Deputy Vice Chancellor. This historic appointment took place on September 26, 2024, during a session honoring outgoing Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Moses Pyefa, and Associate Prof. Jurji Nengak Gomos.

Prof. Ayuba will take over the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration, succeeding Prof. Gomos, who completed two terms in office and was ineligible for reappointment due to university regulations.

The motion to appoint Prof. Ayuba was introduced by Dr. Adepoju Adeyanju, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, and it received unanimous support from the Senate. She was nominated alongside Dr. Emmanuel Nnadi, Deputy Director of Research and Development, who withdrew his candidacy to support Ayuba.

Chairman of the Senate and Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shedrack Best, presided over the vote that confirmed her appointment. Prof. Ayuba's selection marks a significant advancement in the representation of women in academic leadership roles at PLASU.

In her acceptance speech, Prof. Ayuba expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized her commitment to the university's continued development and growth.
