Prof. Umezinwa and Others Honored as ANIM Fellows
Prof. Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa, Vice-Chancellor of Peter University, was honored as a Fellow of the Association of Nigerian Musicologists (FANIM) at their annual conference at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. Umezinwa, recognized for his contributions to music scholarship, is a professor of ethnomusicology and a Catholic priest with extensive experience in academia and pastoral roles.
Prof. Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa, Vice-Chancellor of Peter University, Achina/Onneh, has been recognized as a Fellow of the Association of Nigerian Musicologists (FANIM). The honor was bestowed upon him during the association's annual conference at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Prof. Umezinwa received the fellowship for his significant contributions to music scholarship in Nigeria. A Catholic priest and academic, he is a professor of ethnomusicology with extensive expertise in philosophy, musicology, education, religion, and mass communication.
Prior to his role as Vice-Chancellor at Peter University, Prof. Umezinwa held various academic and administrative positions, including at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. His scholarly work includes numerous articles and books on African philosophy, ethics, and intercultural dialogue. He also hosts a popular weekly classical music broadcast.
In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. Umezinwa has served in various pastoral roles and is noted for his contributions to philosophy, theology, and education. His appointment as the founding Vice-Chancellor of Peter University marks a significant milestone in his career.
