President Tinubu Appoints Dr. Agboola as Pioneer Librarian of FUMMS
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Odunola Agboola as the pioneer University Librarian of the newly established Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences (FUMMS), Abeokuta.

In a strategic move to advance the newly established Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences (FUMMS), Abeokuta, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has appointed Dr. Odunola Agboola as the institution's pioneer University Librarian.
Dr. Agboola, a distinguished academic and librarian from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), was selected in recognition of her extensive expertise, professional experience, and contributions to Library and Information Sciences.
During her tenure at FUNAAB, she played a key role in modernizing library services by integrating digital technology into academic resource management and improving research accessibility for students and faculty. Her leadership in Library Administration and Digital Information Management has been instrumental in enhancing higher education in Nigeria.
Congratulating Dr. Agboola on her appointment, the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, described her selection as well-earned, commending her commitment to academic excellence and innovative library management. He expressed confidence in her ability to establish a world-class medical library at FUMMS.
The appointment of Dr. Agboola underscores the Federal Government’s dedication to building a top-tier medical institution centered on research, knowledge management, and academic excellence. As the pioneer University Librarian, she is expected to lead efforts in developing a cutting-edge medical library to support education, research, and innovation in medical sciences.
The Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta, was recently established to expand access to specialized medical education and enhance healthcare research in Nigeria. With the appointment of key principal officers, including Dr. Agboola, the university is set to commence full academic and administrative operations.
