Mahmood Owolabi, co-founder of the EdTech platform Transition School, has urged Nigerians to embrace emerging career opportunities in the technology sector. Speaking at a media roundtable organized by his UK-based firm, Owolabi highlighted the transformative potential of tech careers, especially in Nigeria’s rapidly growing economy.

Drawing from his extensive experience in both the Nigerian and UK job markets, Owolabi emphasized that technology is not just a growing field but a revolutionary force reshaping industries globally. He pointed out that Nigeria, with its rapid population growth and urgent need for education, stands to benefit significantly from tech-driven economic and professional advancements.

Owolabi stressed that traditional educational systems in Nigeria often struggle to meet the demands of a growing student population. He argued that EdTech offers scalable solutions to bridge these gaps by providing accessible, efficient, and innovative learning methods. Transition School, which offers a six-week intensive training program, exemplifies the impact of EdTech, having successfully trained over 100 students for global tech roles.

Looking ahead, Owolabi announced that Transition School will soon introduce a new EdTech access model aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigeria’s youth and other nationals to excel in the global tech space. He also noted that while Nigeria is a focal point, the impact of technology extends to advanced economies, underscoring its global relevance.
