UNIUYO SUG Constitutes Academic Affairs Committee, Appointments Take Effect

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Uyo has officially announced the formation and commencement of duties for its Academic Affairs Committee.

In a notification released on February 4, 2026, the Director of Academics, Comrade Miracle Victor Etim, confirmed that the Students’ Union Senate has ratified the appointments in line with the provisions of the Students’ Union Constitution.

The new committee is charged with advancing academic welfare, promoting research initiatives, and improving communication between students and university management.

The appointees, effective immediately, are:

• Academic Advocacy and Liaison Officer: Uduak Wisdom Ezekiel
• Secretary: Destiny Akpan
• Academic Programs and Research Coordinator: Owusu Ebenezer Ekemini
• Publicity and Public Relations Officer: Etim Favour Anthony

The statement emphasized that these individuals were carefully selected for their capability to enhance the academic experience on campus. Comrade Etim urged the “Tuskers’ Republic” community to provide the necessary support and cooperation to enable the committee to function effectively.

The announcement concluded with a congratulatory note to the appointees, signed by Miracle Etim, under the SUG motto: “Service & Progress.”
