POS Attendant Faces Backlash for Mocking Former School Senior Selling Ponmo

A young woman identified as Grace Edet has stirred controversy online after mocking her former secondary school senior, who now sells ponmo (cow skin) to earn a living. Grace, who currently works as a POS (Point of Sale) operator, took to TikTok to share a video of her ex-schoolmate walking by with a tray of ponmo.

In the video, she captioned it: “My wicked secondary school senior that year hawking Canda now.” Her post quickly went viral, sparking criticism from viewers who found her behavior condescending and insensitive.

Many users pointed out that the ponmo seller could be making more money than Grace, especially given the high profit margins in local street food sales. They also reminded Grace that working a POS terminal doesn’t place her above anyone, especially when both are simply trying to earn an honest living.
