Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, CMD of UCH Ibadan, Receives Meritorious Award at African Youth Development Parliament

The Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, has been honored with a meritorious award at the 7th official inaugural ceremony of the African Youth Development Parliament. The event was held at the International Culture and Event Centre in Akure, Ondo State, on September 24, 2025.

The ceremony's theme was "Growing From Protests to Participation in Politics, Shunning All Social Vices And Damages of Drug Abuse Among The Youth's".

Prof. Otegbayo delivered a lecture titled "The Nigerian Youth and the Roadmap to Excellence," emphasizing the importance of discipline, integrity, resilience, and a thirst for knowledge in achieving excellence.

He stressed that Nigerian youths are the heartbeat of the nation, full of energy, creativity, and boundless potential, and that the country's greatness rests on their shoulders.

The host, Rt. Hon. Wealth Akerele, the newly elected Speaker of the African Youth Development Parliament, expressed gratitude to Prof. Otegbayo and the UCH management for participating in the event .
