Prof. Oluwole Alagbe to Deliver 9th Inaugural Lecture at Caleb University

Prof. Oluwole Alagbe is set to deliver the 9th Inaugural Lecture at Caleb University, Imota Lagos, on October 18th, 2024, at 10:00 AM. A prominent member of the European Centre for Research Training and Development and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Prof. Alagbe specializes in housing, indigenous building materials, and architectural education.

Prof. Oluwole Alagbe to Deliver 9th Inaugural Lecture at Caleb University

Caleb University, Imota Lagos, is set to host the 9th Inaugural Lecture, presented by Prof. Oluwole Alagbe, a distinguished member of the European Centre for Research Training and Development in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA). The event will take place on Friday, October 18th, 2024, at the University Multipurpose Hall, starting at 10:00 AM.

In his capacity as the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences and Management at Caleb University, Prof. Alagbe brings a wealth of experience in housing, indigenous building materials, and pedagogical innovations in architectural education. He has a rich academic background, having obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, before earning his Ph.D. in Architecture from Covenant University in 2009.

The Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, who serves as the Chairman of the Inaugural Lecture, emphasized the significance of this lecture as the first from the College of Architecture. “This has a special significance for me and the entire University. We are really looking forward to it,” he stated.

Prof. Alagbe began his academic career at Covenant University, where he progressed from Assistant Lecturer in 2003 to Professor in 2021. Over the past 18 years, he has dedicated himself to teaching and research, supervising numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Recognized for his amiable personality and leadership qualities, Prof. Alagbe has made significant contributions to the academic community, having published over 72 journal articles and conference papers, alongside 10 book chapters. He is a COREN-registered Architect and a member of several professional associations, including the Association of Architectural Educators in Nigeria and the Cooperative Network for Building Researchers (CNBR).
