Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi Assumes Office as UNIABUJA Vice-Chancellor, Pledges Collaboration and Innovation

Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi has officially assumed the position of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) and has issued a goodwill message expressing appreciation for the community’s support and outlining his vision for the institution. 

In his message to the university community—including the Council, Senate, staff, students, and alumni—Professor Fawehinmi expressed deep honor at the confidence reposed in him and emphasized his intention to work collaboratively with all segments of the university.

"I am confident that, together, we will continue to build an institution grounded in national unity, inclusiveness, scholarship, and service to society," Professor Fawehinmi stated.

He announced plans for imminent engagements with faculties, units, and stakeholders to collectively chart a clear path for the institution’s continued growth. The Vice-Chancellor called for cooperation, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose to reposition UNIABUJA for greater national relevance and global competitiveness.
