Professor Haruna Musa Takes Over as Bayero University 12th Vice-Chancellor

Professor Haruna Musa, a renowned expert in Polymer Chemistry, has officially taken over as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK). He succeeds Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, who completed his tenure as the 11th Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Musa was appointed by the University Council on July 3, 2025, and assumed office on August 18, 2025. In his inaugural address, he outlined his vision for the university, emphasizing transparency, inclusivity, and dedication to elevating BUK's global standing.

Professor Musa pledged to lead a transparent and inclusive administration, emphasizing teamwork, consultation, and dedication to elevate the university's standard to a globally recognized level.

Professor Musa is a distinguished scholar in Polymer Chemistry, with over 20 research publications in the field.

He has served in various administrative roles, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Head of Department, and Chair of key university committees.
