Professor Kamilu Oyedeko Elected Dean of Engineering at LASU Epe Campus

Professor Kamilu Folorunsho Kayode *Oyedeko* has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Lagos State University (LASU), Epe Campus.

The election was conducted on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, during a meeting of the Faculty of Engineering Board held at the Epe Campus. Professor Oyedeko, a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, emerged unopposed, having received thirty-one (31) “Yes” votes out of the thirty-two (32) votes cast.

Announcing the results, the Faculty Officer and Returning Officer, Mr Samuel T. Whesu, disclosed that Professor Oyedeko was the sole nominee for the position, having been duly nominated by three (3) members of the Faculty Board. He further stated that out of forty-seven (47) faculty members eligible to vote, thirty-two (32) participated in the election.

The outgoing Dean, Professor Nurudeen A. Raji, a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, will complete his second and final two-year term on 24 February 2026. The newly elected Dean is scheduled to assume office on 25 February 2026.

At the conclusion of the election, Professor Raji congratulated the Dean-designate and wished him a successful and impactful tenure. The event was rounded off with group photographs to commemorate the occasion.
