In an extraordinary feat, 14-year-old Maud Chifamba has set a remarkable record by becoming the youngest student ever admitted to the University of Zimbabwe. Born into a challenging environment after losing her parents at a young age, Maud's resilience and exceptional intellect propelled her to academic greatness.

Despite facing the challenges of being an orphan and navigating a tough academic path, Maud successfully completed her Bachelor's degree in just four years, graduating at the age of 18. Her determination and motivation stemmed from the realization that she had to shape her own destiny after the loss of her parents.

Maud shared, “It really motivated me to work harder because there was no one to take care of me except myself in the future. That was … a motivator for me to have something to do with my life.”

Inspired by the failure of businesses managed by her family after her parents' death, Maud chose to study accountancy to understand why these ventures struggled. Not content with just a Bachelor’s degree, she continued her academic journey, earning a Master’s degree at the age of 20 and becoming a Chartered Accountant at 23.

“My three years of articles becoming a Chartered Accountant showed me so much. It was a combination of school and real-life work experience. I can feel like I have grown so much,” Maud expressed.
