Renowned Energy Expert, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, to Deliver Public Lecture on Energy Security and Sustainable Development at ABU

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in collaboration with the Academy of Natural Science and Engineering in Nigeria (ANSEN), will host a public lecture on energy security and sustainable development.

The lecture, titled "Energy Security and Sustainable Development in Nigeria: The Way Forward for the State Governments," will be delivered by Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, a distinguished energy expert and former Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).

Scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2:30 pm at the Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria, the lecture will be chaired by Prof. Salihu Mustapha, Chairman, Board of Trustees, ANSEN.

Prof. Sambo, an ABU-trained engineer and Professor of Mechanical Engineering, is the President of the Nigerian Academy of Science. His research interests include renewable energy, energy planning, thermo-fluid mechanics, and appropriate technology.

Prior to the lecture, ANSEN will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting at 10:00 am at the Postgraduate College Board Room, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria. All Fellows of the Academy are expected to attend and participate in the meeting.

The event is expected to draw experts and stakeholders in the energy sector, and the general public is invited to attend. The Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Prof. Kabiru Bala, will declare the lecture open.
