Sa'adu Zungur University YURSA Warns Students Against Renting Houses Over 80,000 Naira at Yuli
The Yuli Residence Students Association (YURSA) at Sa'adu Zungur University, Bauchi State, has issued a warning to students not to rent houses exceeding 80,000 Naira due to concerns about poor living conditions.
The President of the Yuli Residence Students Association (YURSA), Ambassador Auwal Salisu Aliyu, has issued a public advisory to students residing at Yuli, Sa'adu Zungur University, Bauchi State, cautioning them against renting houses that exceed the rent of 80,000 Naira. This warning comes amid concerns over the living conditions of some houses in the area that fail to meet the basic necessities required for a safe and comfortable environment.
In a press release dated November 21, 2024, Amb. Aliyu highlighted that certain houses in the Yuli area are not legally suitable for rent, citing issues such as inadequate water supply, unstable electricity, and weak structural integrity. He urged students to avoid renting these properties, as they do not meet the essential standards needed for healthy living.
Furthermore, Aliyu instructed that all students residing at Yuli should collect a House Facility Form from the Yuli Residence Students Association, which will be made available by the Dean of Student Affairs. This form, which will be ready upon the school’s resumption on December 8, 2024, is part of an initiative to ensure proper documentation and monitoring of student housing, as well as to ensure compliance with living condition standards.
Aliyu’s statement emphasizes the importance of safeguarding students' well-being and ensuring they reside in quality housing that promotes both convenience and safety. He called on all students to prioritize their safety and make informed decisions regarding accommodation.
The press release concludes with a note of appreciation for the cooperation of students, as the YURSA continues to advocate for better living conditions for all its members.
