SLIDEN Africa and FUNAAB Launch Agribusiness Apprenticeship Scheme

The Sustainable Livelihood and Development Network for Africa (SLIDEN Africa) in collaboration with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has launched the SLIDEN Africa - FUNAAB Agribusiness Apprenticeship Scheme and the remodelled FUNAAB Garri Processing Factory.

The launch event featured a ten-hectare cassava farm under the Cassava: Adding Value for Africa (CAVA II) Sustainability Project. The Vice-Chancellor's representative commended the project team for their innovative drive and urged continued partnership to ensure the project's sustainability.

The SAFAAS program provides students with hands-on training in agribusiness, and the students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field.

The remodelled Garri Processing Factory is now operational, and the university's commitment to agricultural transformation is evident in its efforts to position itself as a model for sustainable agribusiness practices.

The students showcased various packaged garri products, with prices ranging from ₦1,500 for a single pack to ₦10,000 for a 10-pack carton.
