Space Hosts Airc Committee To Monitor Part-Time Degree Programmes At SLUK
The School of Preliminary and Continuing Education, SPACE, Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, SLUK, has hosted the University Affiliation and Internal Review Committee, AIRC, on a working visit to monitor and ensure quality assurance of the School’s Part-Time Degree Programmes.
In his remarks, the Director of SPACE, Dr. Muhammad Abdulkadir, said the visit was part of the University’s effort to strengthen internal quality assurance, academic standards and effective monitoring of programmes run under the School to ensure they meet required academic and institutional standards.
Dr. Abdulkadir disclosed that SPACE had successfully completed its first full academic session of 2025/2026 for the Part-Time Degree programmes. This included the necessary academic processes for the consideration and approval of students’ results.

He added that the School had already commenced the first semester for the 2026/2027 academic session, demonstrating consistency and steady progress in the development of the programmes.
The Director also highlighted the expansion of the Part-Time Degree programmes from 15 approved foundation programmes to an additional 11 programmes, bringing the total number to 26.
He restated SPACE’s commitment to utilizing the Committee’s observations, recommendations and constructive criticisms, particularly in areas requiring improvement.
The Chairman of AIRC, Dr. Mustapha Hussaini, said the focus of the Committee was on the academic and administrative processes of the Part-Time Degree programmes, with particular attention to compliance with established University requirements, academic standards and quality assurance mechanisms.
Dr. Hussaini described the visit as an avenue for interaction between the Committee and SPACE Management on issues affecting the effective administration and continuous development of the Part-Time Degree programmes.
He added that the visit underscores the University’s commitment to ensuring that the expansion of access to university education through SPACE is matched with quality, accountability, effective academic administration and continuous improvement.
