Taraba State University Hosts First Vice-Chancellor Golf Tournament to Celebrate Accreditation Milestone

Taraba State University, Jalingo, marked a significant milestone with the successful accreditation of 53 academic programs by the National Universities Commission (NUC) by hosting its inaugural Vice-Chancellor Golf Tournament. The event, named after the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, was organized by the University's Sports Directorate as a tribute to his leadership and commitment to excellence.

Held at the DDI Golf Course in Jalingo, the tournament brought together golfers of varying skill levels in a display of sportsmanship and community spirit. It provided an opportunity to foster unity, strengthen relationships, and enhance communication among staff and students in a relaxed and vibrant setting.

The tournament was elevated by the presence of Mr. Jinkam Bulus, a two-time African badminton champion, whose participation added prestige to the event. The competition concluded with the presentation of the coveted Prof. Sunday Paul Bako Trophy and a gold medal to the winner, creating a memorable highlight for the day.

Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Dr. Ahmad Baba, graced the tournament and commended the participants for their enthusiasm and skill. He expressed gratitude to the university community for organizing the historic event and emphasized the institution's commitment to blending academic excellence with extracurricular activities for holistic development.
