TASFUED VC Charges 2026 Graduating TISS Students to “Dream, Dare, Do”

The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, and Proprietor of TASFUED International Secondary School (TISS), Igbeba, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, has charged the school’s 2026 graduating students to take responsibility for their future by embracing resilience, courage, creativity, integrity and purposeful living.

Prof. Oladipo gave the charge at the school’s Valedictory Service for the graduating class, where he urged the students to look beyond their present circumstances and pursue their aspirations with determination, encapsulated in his charge: “Dream, Dare, Do!”

The Vice-Chancellor cautioned the graduates against measuring success solely by academic performance, stressing that life after secondary school would require more than grades and certificates.

He noted that the post-secondary-school environment demands character, creativity, integrity, emotional intelligence, adaptability and a commitment to making meaningful contributions to society.

Prof. Oladipo urged the students to remain focused and resilient in pursuing their goals, recognise their potential and apply the knowledge and values acquired in school as a foundation for personal development and positive societal impact.

He also charged them to remain worthy ambassadors of their alma mater, honour the sacrifices of their parents and teachers, and uphold the values instilled in them throughout their years at TISS.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the graduates to return in future to contribute to the continued growth and development of TISS and the wider society, noting that true success should be measured not only by individual achievements but also by the positive difference individuals make in the lives of others.

Speaking ahead of the 30th anniversary of TASFUED International Secondary School, scheduled for October 2026, Prof. Oladipo said the milestone would provide an opportunity for the institution to reflect on its achievements and renew its commitment to continuous development.

He emphasised sustained innovation, technological integration, leadership development and academic excellence as essential to preparing students for the demands of a rapidly changing world.

The Guest Speaker, Mrs Seyi Deborah Timothy, a 2011 alumna of TISS and a Physiotherapist at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, delivered a lecture titled “Preparation After Secondary School: TAKE CHARGE.”

Drawing from her professional experience and personal journey, Mrs Timothy encouraged the graduating students to take responsibility for their choices and future while approaching the next phase of their education with vision, courage, discipline and purpose.

She reminded them that life after secondary school would present both opportunities and challenges, urging them to make deliberate choices, remain disciplined and take ownership of their personal and professional development.

The Valedictory Service also provided an opportunity to celebrate the school’s performance in the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

TISS recorded a 100 per cent pass rate across 17 subjects, while 98 per cent of the students passed English Language.

The school also recorded 100 per cent A1 results in Digital Technology and Geography, alongside notable performances in Accounting, Commerce, Solar Photovoltaic, Chemistry and Civic Education.

In the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), four students scored above 300 marks, further highlighting the school’s academic performance.

Academic distinction awards were presented to outstanding graduating students.

• Odulaja Susan Ibukun — Third Best Student
• Ademolu Ewaoluwa Esther — Fourth Best Student
• Abujade Ameedah Inaolaji — Joint Fifth Best Student
• Sunday Nancy Iruoma — Joint Fifth Best Student

Teachers whose contributions were recognised with commendation awards included Mr S.O. Tewogboye for Civic Education, Mrs O.O. Adekoya for Chemistry and Mr A.O. Fowora for Geography.

The Chairman of the School’s Governing Board, Prof. Adekunle Bamiro, commended the teachers for their sacrifices, encouragement, prayers and commitment to the academic and personal development of the students.

Prof. Bamiro attributed the achievements being celebrated to effective collaboration among parents, teachers and school management. He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure that the school continues to promote academic excellence, innovation, character development and global competitiveness.

He also admonished the graduating students to uphold the values of the institution and remain worthy ambassadors of their alma mater.

The Principal of TASFUED International Secondary School, Mrs Adebola Omoyele, charged the Pearl Legacy Set to see themselves as leaders, scholars and ambassadors of the institution.

She stressed that the world would test their integrity as much as, if not more than, their certificates, urging them to remain honest, kind and diligent as they begin the next phase of their lives.
