TETFund Should Include Private Universities—KKU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nanven Gambo

Professor Nanven Audu Gambo, the Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University (KKU), has advocated for the inclusion of private universities in Nigeria in the Tertiary Education Trust Fund’s (TETFund) interventions. 

Professor Gambo made this appeal during a recent visit from Professor Musa Inusa Fodio, Vice Chancellor of ANAN University Kwall, and his management team. The meeting, held at KKU's office, emphasized the significant role private universities play in advancing technology and education in Nigeria.

In a statement released by Bulus Gambo, the Protocol and Information Officer at KKU, Professor Gambo highlighted the need for equitable treatment of private institutions. He argued that given their substantial contributions to the nation's educational landscape, private universities should not be excluded from TETFund benefits.

Furthermore, Professor Gambo urged Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, to consider extending support to the state's two private universities, noting that many of their students are local residents.

Professor Gambo also expressed gratitude to the proprietor of ANAN University for sustaining its funding and called for increased financial support to ensure smooth university operations and foster effective collaboration between the institutions.
