The Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, has announced the successful outcomes of the TETFund Alliance for Innovative Research (TETFAIR) program, highlighting the impactful contributions to research and development in Nigerian universities. The program, in collaboration with Innov8 Technology Hub, concluded with a showcase event attended by government officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders.

Teams presented innovations such as an automated poultry measurement system, wireless network-based animal tracking, a drone using sound to herd birds away from farms, an education kit for physics experiments, an automation solution for textile drying, an intelligent remote monitoring device for the oil and gas industry, and a self-programmable, affordable hearing aid designed for the African market.
Echono highlighted the positive feedback from potential investors for these prototypes, underscoring the success of the TETFAIR program. He emphasized the importance of research and innovation in addressing developmental challenges in Nigeria and acknowledged TETFund's commitment to supporting impactful research and development through strategic partnerships.

The TETFAIR program, a year-long initiative, provided researchers with training, mentorship, and access to technology and specialized machinery. Echono stated that the program strategically focused on key areas, including Agriculture and Food Technology, Environment, Energy and Circular Economy, Health and Accessibility, Information Communication Technology and Security, and Transportation, Aviation, and Shipping Streamlining/Improving Production Process.
