The Nigerian Red Cross Society, FUTA Detachment Inducts New Leadership

The Nigerian Red Cross Society at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has inducted a new leadership team, with Olaoye Ismail Adebayo as the new Commandant. Adebayo pledged to uphold the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC) principles, including humanity, impartiality, and voluntary service, while serving the community without discrimination.

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Detachment, has formally inducted a new leadership team, with Olaoye Ismail Adebayo stepping in as the newly appointed Commandant. During the induction ceremony, Adebayo pledged his commitment to leading the organization in line with the core principles of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC), which include humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

Adebayo emphasized the detachment’s dedication to humanitarian service without discrimination, vowing that he and the newly inaugurated executive team would continue upholding these fundamental principles. He stated, “We are committed to serving with the heart, keeping humanity in motion as we follow the legacy of Sir Jean Henri-Dunant, the founder of the society.”

The FUTA Red Cross Detachment has played a significant role in supporting the university community through various humanitarian activities and initiatives.
