Inpatients at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, Adamawa State, have expressed gratitude to students of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) for their thoughtful gesture in commemorating the International Day of Care and Support.
The students, accompanied by AUN President, Dr. DeWayne Frazier, and key management staff, visited the hospital wards to provide food items to 100 inpatients. This act of kindness, undertaken in the spirit of humanity, was part of the university’s broader commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Frazier highlighted the importance of extending care to the less privileged, emphasizing that the initiative aligns with the university's mission to nurture compassionate leaders who positively impact society.
Patients and hospital staff lauded the students for their selfless efforts. A patient, who preferred anonymity, remarked, “This act of kindness has lifted our spirits. It shows that we are not forgotten.”
Another patient appreciated the students’ initiative, noting that such gestures provide much-needed support to those facing health challenges.
