Tragedy Strikes: Secondary School Student Fatally Stabbed by Co-Tenant in Abuja

A tragic incident unfolded in Kubwa town, FCT, as a 19-year-old secondary school student, Salma Yunusa, was stabbed to death, allegedly by her co-tenant. The deceased, Salma Yunusa, resided in the town under the care of her elder sister, Bilikisu Yunusa.

According to Bilikisu, an argument ensued between the suspect, identified as Immaculate Chukwudi, and another male tenant known as Pastor. Bilikisu intervened, but tensions escalated, leading to a fatal confrontation.

Bilikisu recounted the harrowing events, stating, "I saw the pastor parking off his clothes... when I tried to find out why, he simply told me that it’s the suspect that demanded it." She continued, "In the following morning... the woman approached again and spit over the water... As my sister was trying to clear her face from the water, she brought out a knife and stabbed her on the chest."

The victim was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The police were alerted, and the suspect was promptly arrested.

Confirming the incident, Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT police command, stated that investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will soon face charges in court.Salma Yunusa was laid to rest in her hometown in Ajagwumu, Dekina LGA of Kogi State.
