Two Corps Members Win N1.7M in 'Accesspreneur' Competition

John Oluwatobi and Adeyemi Adebisi of the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) have emerged winner and 1st runners-up respectively at the 'Accessprenuership' Business Plan competition at the ongoing NYSC Lagos Orientation Course in Iyana-Ipaja.

Myschoolnews reports Winner of the event, John Oluwatobi went home with #1m while Adeyemi Adebisi went home with #700,000

'Accessprenuership', a project of Access Bank of Nigeria is aimed at developing the business acumen of corps members, in order to be business owners.

 The duo were among the five finalists who made it past the preliminary stage and had to slug it out with other three contestants for the prizes up for grabs.

Amuwo Francis emerged as the second-runner up, walking away with N400,000 while Uloho Success came fourth and got a cash prize of N250,000, with an additional N50,000 after her impressive acts on Twitter in line with another competition by the Bank to drive traffic to themselves. 

The fifth position, however, went home with a cash prize of N150,000.

The five other contestants who got eliminated in the preliminary stage also got rewarded with N100,000 each.

In her speech, an official of Access Bank, Mrs. Omowunmi Falade said that the competition is a brainchild of the bank to encourage and reward corps members with passion and interest in entrepreneurship. 

Mrs. Falade who expressed excitement at the partnership with NYSC said that the initiative, aside from empowering the youths with funds, will see to their mentorship and training in entrepreneurship.

She highlighted the need for youths to be self-reliant, noting how much entrepreneurship can assist in achieving such for the Nigerian youth.
