UBTH Institute of Child Health hosts ‘You to Her’ seminar on immunization

The Institute of Child Health (ICH) at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital recently conducted its monthly 'You to Her' seminar, dedicated to addressing critical issues surrounding immunization, Myschoolnews report.

Held in the ICH Seminar Room, this enlightening event featured Prof. (Mrs) A.E Sadoh as the guest speaker, with a focus on the theme;

“When We Fail to Vaccinate.”

On Thursday, September 28, 2023, Prof. Sadoh delivered invaluable insights into immunization, elucidating the mechanisms of vaccines and highlighting the profound benefits of this essential medical intervention.

She delved into the consequences that arise when vaccinations are neglected, explored the reasons behind vaccine hesitancy, and provided effective strategies to address these challenges.

Prof. Sadoh also emphasized the detrimental impact of fake news on vaccination progress and called upon all of us to combat its spread. 

“We must counteract the dissemination of fake news by rigorously fact-checking stories before sharing” Prof. Sadoh urged.
