ULBS-UNILAG Strengthens Global Ties as it Hosts EU-ERASMUS+ Delegation

The University of Lagos Business School (ULBS) reaffirmed its commitment to global partnerships and internationalization by hosting members of the European Union (EU) Erasmus+ Programme on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. The Erasmus+ Programme, a flagship initiative of the EU promoting mobility and cooperation in higher education, engaged in extensive deliberations with ULBS stakeholders.

Led by Professor Berislav Andrlic from Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek (UNIOS), the EU Erasmus+ Programme delegation participated in an interactive forum at ULBS Meeting Room 2, Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC), UNILAG, Akoka. The forum aimed at fostering academic collaboration, deepening understanding of diverse educational systems, and exploring opportunities for academic collaboration and student mobility under Erasmus+.

Professor Andrlic highlighted the program's 30-year legacy of facilitating student and staff mobility between European universities, including short-term mobility to Europe from other parts of the world. This two-way mobility allows students to study abroad for three to twelve months, earning credits recognized at their home institution.

Emphasizing the importance of knowledge sharing and professional connections, Professor Andrlic detailed Erasmus+'s role in enabling student and staff exchanges, joint research projects, and collaborative academic programs. He also highlighted Capacity Building in Higher Education action (CBHE) projects, designed to modernize and reform higher education institutions.

Addressing the forum on behalf of UNILAG, Professor Abraham Osinubi, the immediate past Executive Director of ULBS and current Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), emphasized the significance of research exchange programs.

Recognizing their value in fostering networking opportunities and essential relationships for successful international collaborations, Professor Osinubi aligned the Erasmus+ program's core values with ULBS's mission to excel in business and entrepreneurial development by bridging academia and industry.
