The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has commenced construction of buildings for its Faculties of Nursing and Communication, funded by TETFund.

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) marked a significant milestone today as the management laid the foundation stones for three major projects. These include the Deanery of the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences at the University Teaching Hospital (UATH) in Gwagwalada, and Phase 1 of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies on the main campus. Additionally, the foundation was laid for a new Academic Processing Centre on the main campus.

These projects are supported by the 2023/2024 Annual Intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), with the Academic Processing Centre funded through TETFund's Zonal Intervention. The Director of Physical Development at UofA, Mr. Ezekiel Ripiye, expressed gratitude to TETFund for their support and praised the university management for ensuring timely fund allocation.

The acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi, underscored the importance of these developments and urged the contractors to complete the projects promptly. "It gives me great pleasure to be here to lay the foundation of the building of some of our important courses at the University of Abuja. The importance of these courses cannot be overstated, so I plead with you, dear contractors, to complete work in record time to enable these faculties move from the borrowed spaces into their own structures," she said.

These new facilities aim to enhance the university’s capacity for academic excellence and provide dedicated spaces for the respective faculties.
