The Management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has officially distanced itself from rumors circulating on social media that claim the institution has set up a committee to review students' results.
In a statement released by the university’s Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Egbe, the management clarified that the information, which has sparked significant concern among parents and students, did not originate from the university.
The Registrar described the viral message as the work of fraudsters and mischievous elements aiming to create unnecessary confusion. The university has urged parents, guardians, and students to disregard the misleading reports and instead verify any information about students' results or academic status directly through the official university channels.
In the statement, the management advised members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid being deceived by false claims from external sources. The release emphasized the importance of contacting the university for accurate and verified information to prevent falling victim to fraudsters.

For any updates regarding students' academic matters, the university encouraged individuals to rely on official communications from its management.
