The University of Jos has officially announced the commencement of the sale of application forms for its Pre-Degree/Remedial Science Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session. This initiative aims to support aspiring science students in their pursuit of higher education in various fields, including Medicine, Pharmacy, and Engineering.

Entry Requirements

Candidates interested in enrolling in the Pre-Degree Science Course must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 ‘O’ Level credits in WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE or equivalent qualifications. The required subjects include Mathematics or Further Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and at least one of the following: Biology, Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, or Fine Art.

Application Process

The sale of application forms is currently underway and will continue until September 30, 2024. Prospective candidates can obtain the forms online via the University’s official website at (link unavailable) Lectures for the programme are scheduled to begin on October 2, 2024.

The Pre-Degree Science Course is tailored for students aspiring to pursue degrees in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Science Education, Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Agriculture, and other science-related disciplines. Successful completion of the program guarantees automatic placement into degree programs at the University of Jos, provided candidates meet the following criteria:

- Achieve a minimum of 40% in each subject taken.

- Maintain a proven 75% attendance record during lectures and laboratory sessions.

- Select the University of Jos as their first choice in the JAMB/UTME and meet the university’s cut-off mark, which is subject to annual review.

- Acceptance Fee: ₦30,000 (Thirty Thousand Naira Only)

- School Fee: ₦70,000 (Seventy Thousand Naira Only)

- Total Payable: ₦100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only)
