UNILAG 56th Convocation: VC Commissions World-Class Digital Multimedia Centre and Innovation Exhibition

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, officially commenced the institution’s 56th Convocation Ceremonies on Monday, January 19, 2026, with the high-profile unveiling of a new Digital Multimedia Centre.

The commissioning, held within the University Main Library, serves as a cornerstone of the 2025 graduation celebrations, signaling UNILAG’s transition toward a more technologically integrated academic environment.

During the unveiling, Professor Ogunsola characterized the facility as a "strategic investment" designed to redefine how research and scholarship are communicated across the continent. The center is equipped to support high-level digital content creation, archiving, and global knowledge sharing.

"This Digital Multimedia Centre is a bold step in our commitment to future-facing research," the Vice-Chancellor stated. "It provides our scholars and students with the tools necessary to compete and lead in the global digital landscape."
