UNILAG Celebrates 43 First-Class Graduates from 2024 Law School Bar Exams
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Faculty of Law has honoured 43 of its alumni who achieved First-Class honours in the 2024 Nigerian Law School Bar Examinations.
The celebration, held on Wednesday, October 1, at the Faculty Boardroom, brought together students, faculty members, alumni, and special guests — including Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), Prof. Bola Oboh, commended the Faculty’s consistent record of academic excellence. She described the graduates’ performance as a reflection of UNILAG’s strong academic culture and urged them to uphold professionalism and integrity in their legal careers.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Abiola Sanni (SAN), also expressed pride in the honourees and highlighted recent milestones, such as a new academic partnership with the University of Dundee, UK.
Each of the 43 First-Class graduates received a medal and a congratulatory handshake in recognition of their outstanding achievement.
In her goodwill message, Dr. Oduwole encouraged the graduates to stay committed to ethical legal practice and to serve as proud ambassadors of the university.
The President of the UNILAG Alumni Association announced two major initiatives: the upcoming launch of a UNILAG Alumni App to connect graduates globally, and plans to build a new student hostel on campus. He invited the new lawyers to join the alumni network and support the institution’s development.
