UNILAG Creative Arts Department to Host Festival of Arts and Culture

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to host its vibrant Festival of Arts and Culture organized by the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts, from July 8 to July 20, 2024. This annual festival promises an array of engaging activities aimed at celebrating creativity and cultural diversity within the university community and beyond.

The event schedule features a variety of captivating performances and exhibitions, inviting both members of the university community and the general public to participate. Here’s a glimpse of the events lined up:

The Return – A Stage Play and Theatre Workshop: Kicking off on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 12 noon, this event will take place at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
SPP Group Three – ENIYAN – A Stage Play: Scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2024, starting with a Red Carpet event at 3:00 p.m., followed by the performance at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
Movement and Dance 100 Level: On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m., this event will showcase talents at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
BECOMING MORE: A Visual Arts Students Exhibition: Scheduled for Thursday, July 11, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m., this exhibition will be held at the MAD House, Lagoon Front, UNILAG.
SPP Group One – SON OF THE HAREM: A Stage Play: Also on Thursday, July 11, 2024, starting with a Red Carpet event at 3:00 p.m., followed by the performance at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
Traditional African Festival: Celebrate African culture on Friday, July 12, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
Africa Sings: Enjoy musical performances on Monday, July 15, 2024, starting at 3:00 p.m., at the J.F. Ade. Ajayi Auditorium.
SPP Group Four – SHAKA: Experience another gripping stage play on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, starting with a Red Carpet event at 3:00 p.m., followed by the performance at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
Movement and Dance 200 Level: On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m., showcasing talents at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
UNILAG-Africaribbean Carnival & HOD Awards: Join the carnival parade on Thursday, July 18, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m., followed by performances at 3:00 p.m., at the UNILAG Sports Centre.
SPP Group Two – AKARAAKA: Enjoy yet another enthralling stage play on Friday, July 19, 2024, starting with a Red Carpet event at 3:00 p.m., followed by the performance at the Creative Arts Department Hall.
Costume Parade: Concluding the festival on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with a parade at 12 noon and performances at 2:00 p.m. at the UNILAG Sports Centre.
