UNILAG Mathematics department orientes students at welcome back school programme

In its usual tradition, the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, has held a Welcome Back to School programme to instil goal-oriented developmental skills and leadership qualities in students of the Department.

The event which is basically for fresh students of the Department, kicked off with opening remarks from the Head of Department, Dr. Adesanmi Mogbademu. He welcomed the 100 level and Direct Entry students to the Department; charged them to be worthy ambassadors of the Department and wished them a fruitful sojourn through the University of Lagos.

The programme featured talks from several lecturers of the Department including Dr. Stella Eke who spoke about the Department of Mathematics and various life skills that will assist students in making informed decisions as well as building healthy relationships within and outside the four walls of the University campus; Dr. Abayomi Ayoade who advised them on how to stand out, positively, among their peers and Dr. Hallowed Olaoluwa who spoke on time management, relating it to how they can achieve the goal of being the best student while making wise use of time in the University.
