ABU's Prof. Emmanuel Adewale Adedokun Receives Prestigious Paul Muchene Fellow Award
Prof. Emmanuel Adewale Adedokun of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has been awarded the prestigious Paul Muchene Fellow Award, as announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, during the Senate meeting on March 6, 2025.
Prof. Emmanuel Adewale Adedokun of the Department of Computer Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has been honored with the Paul Muchene Fellow Award. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, announced his selection on the floor of the Senate on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The Senate congratulated Prof. Adedokun on this remarkable achievement.
The Paul Muchene Fellow Award is a tribute to the late Paul Muchene, a former Fellowship Program Manager at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), who passed away in August 2022. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to technology and innovation.
In a similar development, the ABU Senate also congratulated Prof. Gwari Williams of the Department of Industrial Design on his re-election as the National President of the Textile Researchers Association of Nigeria (TRAN) for a second tenure.
Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor announced a donation of essential drugs worth three million Naira to the School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS) Clinic, Funtua. The donation, made by the Katsina State Government through its Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua, aims to benefit both staff and students.
The Senate further extended its felicitations to Prof. Shehu I. Chafe of the Department of Fine Arts on his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Council of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talatan Mafara, by the Zamfara State Governor, His Excellency Dauda Lawal.
Moreover, the Head of the Department of French, Dr. Miriam Birma, was celebrated for her appointment as the Coordinator of the University French Teachers' Association of Nigeria (UFTAN).
These notable achievements highlight the continued academic and administrative excellence of Ahmadu Bello University.
