UNILAG to Host 28th NUNSA Annual General Assembly and Scientific Conferenc
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) will host the 28th Annual General Assembly and Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Universities Nursing Students’ Association (NUNSA) from April 6 to 13, 2025. Themed "Empowering Nurses: A Catalyst for Sustainable Healthcare in Africa," the event will bring together over 1,000 nursing students, healthcare professionals, and policymakers.

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to host the 28th Annual General Assembly and Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Universities Nursing Students’ Association (NUNSA). The event, themed "Empowering Nurses: A Catalyst for Sustainable Healthcare in Africa," will take place from Sunday, April 6, to Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The highly anticipated gathering will bring together over 1,000 nursing students from across Nigeria, alongside healthcare professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders. It aims to provide valuable insights into the future of nursing education, leadership, and healthcare delivery in the country.
The conference will feature a variety of activities, including a Scientific Conference and Research Presentation, a Nurse-athon (Hackathon) and Innovation Challenge, a Data Privacy and Protection Workshop, and Virtual Reality Clinical Training. Participants will also engage in a Walk Against Quackery and Public Health Sensitization, as well as Cancer Awareness and Screening Programmes.
Beyond academics and healthcare discussions, the event will celebrate culture and entertainment through a Cultural, Fashion, and Music Festival, Sports competitions, and the prestigious Mr. & Miss NUNSA National Pageantry. The week-long gathering will conclude with a Leadership Summit and an Annual Awards Banquet recognizing outstanding contributions to the nursing profession.
As UNILAG prepares to host this landmark event, the conference is expected to serve as a platform for advancing the role of nurses in shaping a sustainable healthcare system in Africa.
