UNILAG VC Encourages Collaborations and Innovative Research at ULBS Reception

On September 30, 2024, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola welcomed the 2024/2025 cohort of the UNILAG Business School (ULBS) Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme. She emphasized the importance of collaboration and solution-driven research, urging participants to cultivate relationships that foster innovation.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has emphasized the importance of collaboration and solution-driven research during a recent reception for the 2024/2025 intakes of the UNILAG Business School (ULBS). Speaking on September 30, 2024, at the welcome event for newly admitted participants in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme, Prof. Ogunsola urged the cohort to cultivate friendships and meaningful engagements that would facilitate innovative research efforts.

Prof. Ogunsola highlighted that UNILAG is aligning its academic programs to strengthen ties with the industry, aiming to develop innovative solutions that address contemporary challenges. She congratulated the thirty-five (35) DBA participants who were selected from a competitive pool of eighty-four (84) applicants, encouraging them to prepare for the challenges ahead. “Work hard, learn, innovate, and become better persons not just for individual career growth but for national development and transformation,” she advised.

The Executive Director of ULBS, Professor Mike Adebamowo, reiterated the institution's commitment to nurturing leaders who will enhance integrity in the Nigerian business landscape. He assured the cohort of a world-class learning experience, delivered by seasoned academics and industry professionals. Prof. Adebamowo expressed confidence that the participants would be molded into innovative solution providers, fulfilling the mandate of ULBS.

Dr. Simeon Ifere, the DBA Programme Director, explained that the ULBS DBA Programme builds upon the Master of Business Administration (MBA) foundation, equipping participants with advanced research-based knowledge and expertise. The program is designed to link research with professional development, enhancing practical skills while addressing complex industry challenges.

They commended the participants for their determination and encouraged them to embrace the three-year journey, which promises to provide fresh insights into business practices and leadership.

The reception concluded with an interactive session, where attendees expressed their eagerness to engage, learn, and strengthen the synergy between the University of Lagos and industry partners through the ULBS.
