University of Ilorin begins construction on a 10-bedroom student hostel project led by the 36th Students' Union executives, enhancing campus accommodation.
On Friday, July 12, 2024, the University of Ilorin witnessed a significant milestone as Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, the Vice Chancellor, ceremoniously initiated the sod-turning for a new hostel project. This endeavor marks the beginning of a transformative initiative led by the 36th Students' Union executives under the stewardship of Comrade Joseph Ologundudu.

The focal point of this project is the construction of a modern 10-bedroom bungalow hostel, designed to accommodate up to 40 students. Strategically positioned adjacent to the Pyramid Hostel on the University of Ilorin Campus, the proposed Student Union Hostel aims to alleviate accommodation challenges faced by students, enhancing their overall living and learning experience.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the initiative, Professor Wahab Egbewole emphasized its importance in addressing the pressing accommodation needs of the student body. He commended the proactive approach of the Students' Union in translating advocacy into tangible action for the benefit of the university community.
