The Students Union Government of the University of Maiduguri has condemned the recent abduction of medical students by bandits and has called on both the Borno State Government and the Federal Government to expedite security investigations to ensure their swift rescue.

In a statement issued on August 21st, the union expressed deep concern over the abduction and referenced the recent killing of a traditional leader from Gobir, Sokoto State, by bandits. They urged Nigerian security agencies to act promptly to prevent a similar tragedy from befalling their fellow students.

"Students are government properties, and education is the right of all Nigerians," said Comr. Babangida Musa (Sarkin Fulani Unimaid), the Public Relations Officer of the University of Maiduguri. He emphasized the need for immediate action to ensure the safety and security of students across the country.
