The University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, has won the French Embassy Research Grant on the Plastic waste Management Project.

The University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, has won the French Embassy Research Grant on the Plastic waste Management Project.

In an interview shortly after receiving the award, the Vice Chancellor University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke said the proposal that won the grant was aimed at designing, developing, and implementing an innovative and sustainable Plastic Waste Management System.

Prof. Chiemeke  disclosed that the project would address the pervasive use of plastic waste management within UNIDEL and its host communities by adopting a comprehensive and phased approval to recycling and re-purposing public waste.

According to the Vice Chancellor, the project which would be in three phases would involve everyone in the University community and would kick off immediately after the University has been notified.

While congratulating   the University community for the great achievement, Prof. Chiemeke called on everyone in the University community to be prepared for the commencement of the actual project.
