Gombe State University Acting VC, Others Honored with Excellence in Leadership Awards
Gombe State University's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, has been recognized for his outstanding leadership alongside other prominent figures in Gombe State.
The Nyimalti Development Association presented the Excellence in Leadership Award to Professor Yauta and others at a ceremony held at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Gombe.
Additionally, Professor Halima Mohammed Abba, a distinguished staff member of GSU, received an Outstanding Service Award for her dedication and contributions.
The event also featured the presentation of the Nyimalti Lifetime Achievement Award to past civilian governors of Gombe State, including Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Senator Danjuma Goje, and former Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, in recognition of their lasting impact on the state.
During his acceptance speech, Professor Yauta expressed gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity to serve the people of Gombe State. He dedicated the award to the university's staff, students, and community, emphasizing that it serves as a reminder of their duty to serve with renewed passion and commitment.
The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries from across the state and beyond, and it included a fundraising initiative aimed at establishing a N300 million Education, Skills Acquisition, and Economic Empowerment Centre (ETC).
